Family Homes Property Management Services – Inspections
Family Homes undertake 2 to 4 property inspections per year per property let. The aim of performing property inspections is to ensure we build an excellent working relationship with our tenants regardless if they are long or short tenancies. After all, we recognise that it is reliable tenants who are the heart of any successful lettings business, so we understand how important it is that you enjoy the experience of renting a home with us.
Property inspections ensures that any issues that may arise during the tenancy period are dealt with quickly. It gives piece of mind to the tenant, knowing that there is someone that they turn to and that our aim to is look after their home whilst at the time protecting their hard earned deposit.
It is gives piece of mind to the property owner the landlord, knowing that the tenancy teams are being upheld, and that their large investment is being looked after.
Before the inspection day an appointment time will be agreed with the tenant. At the agreed time our property inspector will attend the property. The appointment normally takes 30 minutes, during which time the whole property is checked against the start inventory, tapes and smoke alarms are checked to in order that they are in good working order.
A quick inspect report is completed and pictures of the property are taken at the same time. During this process everything is openly discussed with the tenant and the tenant is also given an opportunity to comment and highlight any concerns or issues.
Upon returning to the offices of Family Homes, the Property Inspector will call or e-mail the landlord with a copy of the report along with pictures seeking approval for any works which may be required or simply confirming that the tenancy and the property is being maintained as per the agreement and that all is in order.
